Popup Bookshop closing

The Central Market Arcade is being redeveloped, meaning we must make way for the bulldozers at the end of June. And whilst, like a phoenix, our sister store (Orchard Bookshop)¬†looks set to rise from the rubble and set up elsewhere in the CBD (to be revealed shortly), Adelaide’s Pop-Up Bookshop will cease to have a bricks & mortar location.
Over the past few years, we have used our Popup Bookshop profile to establish a community book room which has provided thousands of people with the opportunity to sample a truly diverse range of books.
We recognise this has been a source of great joy & comfort to so many members of our community – especially those in lower socio-economic groups who have felt safe and welcome in this literary space – & we are greatly saddened by the fact that we will no longer be able to provide this service.
We will still be trading into May and there are many books available for $1each plus our other assortment of sale stock & oddments.
So please try to take advantage of this small window of time before we do go gentle into that good night. xoxo N&K

$1 Book Sale

Are you sick of those “sales” that scream “1/2 price!” or “147% Off ALL Items*… *except the stuff you want”

Well here’s something you can take to the bank… until further notice, all the books on the PopUp Bookshop shelves are currently priced at just $1 [One Dollar] each!!

Now, we’re not saying these are the cream of the crop, Orchard-style books we’re renowned for, but in this biz we sometimes end up with more than we require. And, whilst it can perhaps be argued there are many books that should never have been published, we’re always very reticent to send any to the recycling bin.

There ARE bargains-aplenty

There ARE some great titles

This IS something in which to bury oneself

Come and immerse yourself in quantity, and, while you’re here, check out the supreme quality next-door at Orchard Bookshop… happy fossicking!! xo N&K

2019 Book Sale

Thurs 10th to Sat 12th of January

From 9am at our Central Market store (formerly The Gallery Next Door annex)

Over 1000 books from a single-owner collection – all books are priced to sell so this is not one to miss

With a predominance of religion, history (with much South Australiana) and literature, but with a miscellany of other curiosities, there are plenty of bargains to be had!

And if that’s not enough, any books remaining on Saturday will be available for HALF-PRICE! That’s 50% of the already low sale price!
