  • Containing Twenty Coloured Enlargements From Tenniel’s Illustrations
  • First run of 10,000 copies were rejected by Carroll [1889] with 4000 sent to the US to be bound as the 1st American Edition.
  • This copy, with price Four Shillings on title page, is the First Edition as approved by the author; illustrated boards, bumped and chipped around edges with 3cm sq loss bottom rhs, spine with some minor splits, inner front hinge starting [top half], presentation inscription ffep [1891], water-affected at base with tide mark evident on half-title to 4cm from bottom, marked throughout but illustrations unaffected and bright [coloured by E. Gertrude Thomson]; a good + copy of a hard-to-find title.
