The Golden Apples Of The Sun is a collection of 20 short stories from one of SF and cult classic Literature’s favourite sons, Ray Bradbury. It includes The Pedestrian, a wonderful dystopian vignette based on a real life incident where Bradbury was questioned by police while out on a walk. It acted as the catalyst for his most famous novel Fahrenheit 451.*
This is the First UK Edition (Rupert Hart-Davis, 1953) in the beautifully futuristic dustjacket illustrated by Joe Mugnaini, which also serves as the line drawing to head The Wilderness.
Jacket has some bumps and nicks to extremities and is price-clipped but otherwise shows bright and handsome. There is some slight offsetting discolouration to free endpapers but the book is in very good condition.
An excellent example of 50s SF Literature.
*As mentioned by Bradbury in his Introduction to 50th anniversary edition of Fahrenheit 451, published by Faber.
