Roughsey’s retelling of the Dreamtime tale of how Gaiya, the dangerous giant devil-dingo, was changed into man’s friend and helper, the dingo.
This book was a staple for those Australian children going through primary school in the late 70s/early 80s (revealing our age!) and was the deserved recipient of the Children’s Book Council of Australia Picture Book of the Year (1974).
Now hardly seen on the open market (it’s a keeper), it is positively scarce in hardcover.
Ours is a first US edition (1975) in excellent condition.
