SALINGER, J.D.: The Catcher in the Rye. London, Hamish Hamilton, 1957 (third impression)/ 1951 (first UK edition). Octavo; light blue papered boards with silver lettering on the spine; covers lightly bumped at the extremities, spine lightly sunned; top edge lightly foxed; endpapers offset; contemporary country South Australian bookseller’s paper label on the front pastedown; an excellent copy with the very good price-clipped dustwrapper a little rubbed, chipped, creased and lightly marked, with a few short tears (one sealed on the verso with now-discoloured tape not visible when the dustwrapper is in place).
The dustwrapper has ‘4th Impression’ printed on the front flap, but it is presumably as issued with this third-impression book.
