Initially the Baldina Homestead, this house was established in the area then known as St John’s Wood in 1839 before undergoing a name change to Wingfield House in 1939 (St John’s Wood also became part of the Adelaide suburb of Prospect) under which name it was still known at the time of this publication (1979).

Together with numerous photos and house plans, this copy also includes a handwritten letter from the author to the noted historian and author Mrs Margaret Kerr, complimenting her on one of her many titles, Colonial Dynasty.

Very good card covers staple-bound with backing tape along spine.
