This is a genuine first edition of Joan Lindsay’s iconic Australian novel, Picnic At Hanging Rock. Published in 1967 by Cheshire, it became a much-loved movie (directed by Peter Weir).
It centres on a group of students who mysteriously disappear whilst on a Valentine’s Day picnic.
The book caused a sensation upon release, has been the subject of further speculation due to the discovery of a “final chapter” after the author’s death and is a perennial favourite.
Our copy is the most affordable currently on the market due to the rear endpaper having been removed (not affecting text) and the sunned dustjacket spine. Otherwise, this is an excellent copy of an important book.
