Description

[vi], 142pp; Published by The Book Guild Ltd (Sussex, 1986); Scarce but thorough examination of Western Australia’s cinematic history. Both book & dustjacket are in very good condition, except for the unfortunate decision by the previous owner to scribble over their ownership details in blue texta on front fly leaf (pictured). Included is a loose press release: “A fascinating look into the history and development of the cinema history and film theatres in Perth and Western Australia, where many fine examples of the popular mass entertainment palaces still exist.” [As at November 1986, of course!] “This is the culmination of six years of research through records, film exchanges, exhibitors and the wealth of information provided by projectionists.”

The author M[ax]. D. Bell was born in Cottesloe, WA “and is passionately interested in the cinema industry.”
