John McDouall Stuart’s Explorations 1858-62

A deluxe quarter-leather reproduction of the five expeditions documented in Parliamentary Papers.

Gaining an exploration apprenticeship under Charles Sturt, Stuart went on to complete six major explorations of his own, enduring some of the most inhospitable conditions and terrain imaginable, without losing a single member of his team – truly extraordinary.

This volume details five of those explorations (his journal of the 2nd expedition was not supplied to Parliament and so is not part of this volume. It was, however, printed separately and we have a copy of this volume also – click here) and is #28 of 99 copies bound in quarter-leather, published by The Friends Of The State Library (2001).

Complete with Stuart portrait frontispiece and large fold-out map of all explorations in pristine condition.
