Flanagan’s History Of New South Wales [1862]

1 in stock

Fully titled The History Of New South Wales; With An Account Of Van Diemen’s Land [Tasmania], New Zealand, Port Phillip [Victoria], Moreton Bay, And Other Australian Settlements. Comprising A Complete View Of The Progress And Prospects Of Gold Mining In Australia.

This is a very rare 1862 (published by Sampson Low), two-volume set of Roderick Flanagan’s excellent history of early Australian settlements.

NB THIS SET IS IN POOR CONDITION (or, if you prefer, a “Restorer’s Delight”) AND PRICED ACCORDINGLY. Please see attached photos to see what we mean, however, it is complete and authentically original.

Spines are detached but internally the volumes are remarkably well preserved meaning re-backing by a professional conservator will create a wonderful set.

Roderick Flanagan, member of the Australian Literary Institute and the Philosophical Society, died before the publication of this monumental and important work.
