Edited by Sydney Ure Smith & Leon Geller and published by Art in Australia. No publication date is listed, but a charming inscription dates it as 1923 (more on this later)!
This book was limited to a run of only 600 copies (ours is #370) signed by Gruner and contains a tipped-in reproduction pencil portrait of him by Norman Lindsay; 25 colour tipped-in plates; 16 tipped-in b&w plates; a short bio snippet entitled ‘Elioth Gruner – Reminiscences’ by Julian Ashton and another by Norman Lindsay, ‘Creative Vision in Landscape’.
The inscription to which we alluded was written by Gruner to his good friend and student Adrian Feint and so, initially, this book was a gift from one great Australian artist to another.
We also have another regular copy (ie signed limited edition without inscription) for $500. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
