Published by Angus & Robertson in 1963, this is an immense work containing ‘10,283 titles of books and articles relating to the native peoples of Australia, many more thousands of indexed references, and a map by which the location of 554 tribes may easily be found’.

John Greenway was an American folklorist, amateur archaeologist, accomplished bibliographer and good friend of renowned anthropologist Norman Tindale (it was Greenway who encouraged the University of Colorado to award Tindale an honarary doctorate in 1967).

Our copy is in very good condition – the dustjacket has some minor bumps and rubbing.
